Checkout posted an interview about EA’s PC/PS2 Bond game; The World Is Not Enough.

What was behind the switch from third-person to first-person perspective?

We think that the first-person perspective really helps put you into the world of the game better. We think that people would much rather "be" James Bond than just see him running around. The core reason we switched to first-person is because that perspective really helps bring more intensity to the game, when you're there and you're running and there are people right in your face with gunshots flying everywhere. It also makes aiming and shooting much easier.
