MDK2: Armageddon review - Comments (0)
Posted by @ 4:41 PM, EDT
We added a review of Bioware’s adventure/shooter game, Murder Death Kill: Armageddon:
As with the original MDK, you will either love or hate the way the development team has presented the story and dark imagery. Mix this along with some incredible slapstick humor from our Canadian friends at Bioware and you have a successful attempt that rarely works all the way from beginning to end. In MDK 2: Armageddon not only do you play as Kurt Hectic the bio-armed gunman with a sniper rifle, but also as Max the six-armed robotic dog with an attitude and the eccentric Dr. Fluke Hawkins.

We also added a review of 3DO’s Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes 2:
The mission objectives are simple and repetitive. Go and save this person, protect that person and search and destroy multiple objects. There are a total of 12 weapons including an all out Air Strike. Weapons can be found throughout the game and earned in hidden places. A number of power-ups are also available as you proceed through each level. In your journey to stop the twisted General Plasto, you will encounter 10 forms of enemy forces from soldiers to megabots.

Z.O.E. review
Posted by @ 1:43 PM, EDT
We posted a review of Konami’s mech fighter, Z.O.E:
One of the best aspects of the game is facing off against giant bosses from time to time. These battles are very fun and will really get your adrenaline pumping if the difficulty is set higher. My only complaint here is that their moves are too predictable. I was able to go to school on the bosses in no time after only a few seconds of analyzing their fighting pattern, but it was still fun.

Army Men: Green Rogue review - Comments (0)

We also added a review of 3DO’s Army Men game, Green Rouge:
Once you begin a mission (if you could call it that), the camera constantly pushes you along. Nope, there is no stopping for a breather in this game. You go where the camera points you or else! That's funny because last time I heard, the player was supposed to be in control of the action right? Not only are you moving all the time but you also have little control over where you can aim. Depending on the camera angle, you can only aim in one particular direction at any time. The right analog stick is supposedly for aiming but I would hardly call it aiming at all.

E3: Interview with Hideo Kojima - Comments (0)
Posted by @ 2:46 PM, EDT
Hideo Kojima speaks his mind about MGS2 before he locks it down until it's release, C & VG has the story:
"Hideo Kojima and his team from Konami Computer Entertainment Japan are running so far ahead of the curve it’s almost frightening. Hundreds of attendees swarmed Konami’s stand at every showing of the new revelations of the next generation covert adventures of Solid Snake, and the collective look of joy on the faces of the throng said it all. A harrier screamed over the George Washington Bridge in New York as Snake tracked it through binoculars, missiles crashed into the structure’s metal lattice work as the agent ducked for cover. Previously unseen character Fortune took an enormous lightning gun to task with the tragic hero in a docking bay. Metal Gear Ray awoke in the bowels of the now famous tanker from the demo version of the game, scything the hold with a white laser from its elongated metal mouth as soldiers fought blindly for their lives, the ship breaking up under the might of an angry sea. As the music of Enemy of the State composer Harry Gregson-Williams swelled, creating a cathedral of image and noise, onlookers stared in wonder. In-game. Real-time.

"As we've said many times already during our coverage of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, despite being "old new" and despite having played the short demo for more than 40 hours, Kojima managed to blow us away yet again. The new footage of MGS2 that was shown managed to move me every bit as good as the first one did last year."

"We've filmed Namco's Tekken 4 teaser trailer now, and so here we pass on to you a movie of the proceedings, plus a few shots exported from the video showing the character portraits that make up the trailer. Shown below is the character which we believe may be new, although the debate continues -- arguments range from an upgraded Bryan Fury to Jack with hair to Paul Phoenix's son to Eddy Gordo after catching that hormonal condition Michael Jackson supposedly had."

"Jak and Daxter is the long-awaited premiere title from Naughty Dog, the recently purchased first-party developer that created the ever-popular Crash Bandicoot series on PlayStation. Jak and Daxter in many ways is a departure for the team, but in many ways the game delivers classic Naughty Dog trademark game elements. Starring two main characters, Jak, the sober, humble blond-haired young boy who has yet to realize his potential, and his outrageous and daring sidekick and best friend, Daxter, a bizarre combination of what looks like an otter and a weasel, Naughty Dog's new game is a fully explorable 3D action-platform title. Shadow Man 2 The Second Coming: Exclusive Screen's - Comments (4)
Posted by @ 12:06 PM, EDT
DR U.K. has some exclusive screen's of this upcoming game heading for the PS2:
"And here comes the sequel, bound for the PS2 in a flurry of blood and bone-shards. We were lucky enough to be invited to play the game recently, and what we saw hints at a game that may well outstrip the original in terms of fresh ideas, tight gameplay and delivering a gaming experience steeped in atmosphere.
Certain things, obviously, remain the same. Hero Mike Leroi cans till transform into his Deadside-bound alter-ego, the voodoo warrior Shadowman. But the game is also looking to be markedly different from it's predecessor; for a start, developers Acclaim Teesside have taken a step back from the often bewildering size of the original game. Shadowman 2 is more linear, although it of course offers the more inquisitive player plenty of exploration, and as such, the game is tighter in structure, 'guiding' the player and concentrating on delivering a more action-packed affair."

Shadow Of Destiny review
Posted by @ 11:50 AM, EDT
We added a review of Konami’s adventure game Shadow of Desiny:
You are Eike Kusch, and you are having a bad day. Unfortunately for Eike, a bad day for him isn’t just losing a job or a girlfriend, no sir, Eike has a habit of dying. Eike’s destiny for that day is to die, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Or is there? After being stabbed to death while walking down the street, you awake to find yourself in a strange room. Even stranger, is the voice that confronts you, telling you what has happened. The voice tells you that you are destined to die, but if you are strong willed, you can prevent it from happening. Needless to say, Eike is a bit hesitant at first to believe he has died, and then to believe that he can do something about it. Realizing he has no choice but to accept his opportunity to live, Eike is taken back to a time shortly before his death.
This is where things get interesting. You’ve only got a certain amount of time before you will be stabbed in the back while walking down the street. After speaking to a local psychic, Eike learns that his best bet at avoiding death is to have a crowd around him so the assailant can’t get to him. This is the essence of the game. After surviving one brush with death, it is inevitable that Eike dies from something else. Eventually you’ll overcome your destiny and live happily ever after, or will you? The game features multiple endings, which vary based upon the choices that you’ve made.

PS2 Price cuts... but when??? - Comments (0)
Posted by @ 8:31 PM, EDT
The question that has puzzled us since it's release. The price cut was originaly supposed to be announced at E3, it isn't happening. However, news of a possible price cut later this year has risen.
"Sony doesn't need to cut the price now, and dropping by $100 is a much stronger move than $50," a senior U.S.-based Sony watcher told U.K. Brit mag, MCV. "The still-scratchy inventory situation wouldn't respond well to a cut now. They're better off waiting until they've got the units available to really go for it."
