At the Summoner board they said many times they main focus are on gameplay and they put visuals at the back burner. What Summoner make up in there low-poly count is the nice textures they have.

Damn dude, I don't know what game you've been looking at, but it ain't Summoner. That game looks awesome. Full 3d. Amazing textures. Stunning special FX. Awesome set designs. In fact, I can't think of a better looking launch game on the PS2.

And I don't get the low poly business. Characters with 1500 polys? How many more polys do you need for a character that is only rendered at 100 pixels on a crappy TV? Plus, volition has shown super lush environments, and detailed architecture in cities. All that stuff costs polys too. Have you seen the forest shots? They actually look like forests.

I think you guys are just looking for a reason to complain.

Well 1st Chuck, I'm by far the biggest supporter/defender of thr SUmmoner on this forum.

The SUmmoner looks pretty good, but in no way does it fully push the console especially compared to some other launch games and some screens of 2nd generation games for the PS2.

Never the less alot of people do not think its a great looking game, and the latest Trailer in Bink Format doesn't help to display how good the game actually looks. I know why the trailer looks un'AA'd but alot of people do not undersatand or believe why this is.

Still its a personal taste, I love the Summoner for its american style characters and tons of cool looking spells, and the gameplay sounds like fun.

I also know and expect it to look so much better on my 27" Mitsubishi

You're smoking crack if you think any launch title if "fully pushing the console". It will be years before we see games that fully push the PS2.

Still, I say Summoner's in-game screens look as good as, or better, than any other launch title for the PS2. And don't pass me any links to pre-rendered shots of game whatever and pass them off as in-game.
