So it seems that Madden 2001 has it's hands full with not only Gameday 2001 but Sega's own NFL2K1! Check out these brand spankin' new screenshots!
Awesome or what?!!! EA has it's hands full this time around. Note to the mods: Can't I post friendly pics of the competition's games without it being thought of as anti-Sony propaganda?

That will give Madden a hard time, especially since it's got the reflective helmets, better proportioned characters, and better looking stadiums. We won't know for sure until we see the final product, but man, that's lookin' sweeter than sweet.

I find these pictures to be, bland, plain, flat, squared and uninspired. But, other then that, they look great!

Rev, Did you really expect for PS2 fans in a PS2 only forum to give a DC game any credit? Why even post these pics here? Anyway I'll give my 2 cents. These pics show a big improvement over the older E3 NFL2K1 pics and big improvement over the original NFL2K.

Hey here is a question, "where the Hell are the screen shots for gameday?" I mean Madden has tons of shots and so does nfl2k1,but maddens biggest comp. isnt nfl2k1 its gameday. SO WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SHOTS DAMN IT!!!!! oh nfl2k1 loooookkkks sweeet!!

sys203: There is a theory that Sony agreed to not hype their 989 products too early in exchange for EA continuing to not support the DC. There have been reports of EA developing games for DC, but choosing not to release them. This theory of an agreement with Sony would explain both issues. I did read something on another message board about 989 revealing some info about Gameday 2001 some time prior to Space World. We'll just have to wait and see though.

Looks good, I still believe that the player models are a little bit too tall but hey, thats my preference. Rev, this topic will stay here unless it turs into a Madden vs. NFL2K1 debate then i'm gonna move it to the debate forum. And when did you ever get the impression that we discourage positive posts about other consoles. There are tons of posts like that in this forum. Just because you post anti-ps2 stuff usually does not mean that other people do not post positive stuff about other consoles without bashing the PS2 ------------------

online ass kicking baby. hell it could lag like a son of a bitch its still better than none. only thing sega needs to do is advertise this babies online flash a couple screen shots or short clips of gameplay this would sell. This game looks really good but in my opinion madden still looks better. There's just something vibrant and alluring about the madden shots that is pleasing to the eye.

The biggest improvement I notice is the lighting and shadows. Look at the receivers hands - and the shadow between the thumb and finger. That makes a huge difference. With NFL2k, the lighting didn't look as good as this.

because this looks smoother than madden looks If you want to see really smooth check out ready to rumble for dc.It has fsaa But the reason and only reason i like nfl2k1 more than madden not graphics ,gameplay etc is nfl2k1 is online and i want to play an online football game. NFL 2K1 really looks kick ass. We all know the gameplay will be kick ass, as are the graphics. Madden i may wait for the next version. But with NFL Gameday, they may just take the football crown away from sega. ------------------

Jaggies, what foogin jaggies? I looked at these screens and they're very smooth I do not see one jaggied edge. As for some that say Madden 2001 still looks better....uh huh and I prefer crack whores over real women. As for some saying this game is going to lag well IGN played it connecting at 31.2k on a regular ISP and said it ran smooth their exact quotes were "I swear this ran so smooth you can catch the sweat on barry sanders forehead".

Thanks for the pics, man. Haven't seen NFL2K1 for awhile. Although not a gigantic difference over the previous is present, it is very big. I liked the third shot as a good demo of the game's lighting effects. Still, I personally think Madden 2K1 can do better than that (you know it). However, NFL2K1 could end up being a better game thanks to online support. I haven't heard about EA's online gaming plans concerning Madden 2K1, though. I guess I'll have to wait and see... ------------------

[talking about madden pic]I know they look better than jap. version of ridge racer and ttt because madden probly uses the infamous summoner techneque But HOLD on isnt it suppose to be the best way but dosent show up in pics? Then why the madden pics dont have jags. They must be doctered if they use the summner way because it only works while game is running they said.Because i havent heard of a new way to do aa(or a kind of blending,smoothing) thats shows up in screenshots on ps2. I hate when people twist and turn what your trying to say.Onlly thing i was pionting out not trying To do whatever the heck metal death said was point out dc has an easyer ,better way IT COULD OF USED FSAA than ps2. hell ps2 dosent even have fsaa it use some techneque for flickering that just so happens to get rid of jaggies. Even without fsaa i think nfl2k1 will be smoother because its the second edition theve had lots of time working with dc. *sigh* Jaggies, why is it so hard to believe that there can be a non-jaggied game on the PS2. In one breath you say that you want non-jaggied games it doesnt matter what system they are on. Then you turn around when we show you some non-jaggied pictures and say "they were doctored." The jaggies that were seen in the Jap lauch were not a result of a lack of FSAA. Only one game on a console to date has had FSAA and the only ones you are bitching about are PS2 games. FSAA is not that big of a thing. Most of the problems you are complaining about are caused by interlace flicker and poor use of mip-mapping. Both have been solved now. Madden has less jaggies than NFL2k1 and you refuse to admit that. Look at the goal posts in both games...guess what....jaggies. But it does not matter one little whit. They both look freaking amazing and they are going to be wonderfully great games. This jaggies issue is nothing but overblown bull****. Give it a rest. ------------------

I've said it before, and I'll say it again..... The Jaggies are not that bad........but they simply shouldn't be there. PS. If the PS2 was half the machine it was hyped up to be, we would not even be talking here.

Smoother? Whatever. I'm looking at the NFL2k1, they look great!!! But I see tons of jaggies. Look at the Dallas Cowboy's back. hands, ball, and shoulders. The helmet on the Redskins player. This is just in the first pic! The NFL2k1 players also seems so...blocky. Now, when I'm playing NFL2k1 or Madden, will I care about the jaggies? **** no! I would be having this thing called fun and won't notice things as stupid as a few jaggies. ------------------

And still for 300.00 youd think youd get what 2 200.00 consoles have. FSAA Or whatever dolphin uses too(dolphin is almost certain to be 199.00 and not to forget something simple as a good way to smooth edges.(cant wait 10 days)this will be damaging if media runs a story about dolphin having greater looking games and cheaper price than ps2. But ill still play those jaggie or no jaggie with lower fps and graphic detail games on ps2. Because there just as good as dreamcast. Ps2 will win by default because it has more developers and more games to sell. plus it has the media by the balls 3 million sold in japan my ass more like 2.3 million mabye. yea ill believe oct 26 and after that. Just because iam a critic dosent mean iam not a fan too.Or will play the games. I more of a issue of price not being worth the games out at launch to me.But id spend 350.00 for mgs2. Screenshots are so much of a ******* PR joke i stop judging graphics of games from them.
